One Out of Four Fans Would Give Up Sex for a Super Bowl Win According to New AreYouRomantic.com Sports Lovers Poll

— Thirty Percent of Men Think They Are Better in the Sack After Their Team Wins —

LAKEVILLE, PA – One in four men surveyed in a recent poll of sports fans would be willing to give up sex for at least a month if their favorite team were guaranteed a Super Bowl win, according to the new Sports Lovers poll from AreYouRomantic.com. The survey, commissioned by Caesars Pocono Resorts, asked sports fans and those in love with sports fans, how their number one team impacts life with their other half. From better lovin’ after a team win to postponing sex till the post-season, the poll determined that sports can act as the ultimate “delay of game” for warm and fuzzy couple time.

According to the Sports Lovers poll, many male sports fans would be willing to sacrifice their ability to “score” for their team’s ability to...well...score.

  • Fifteen percent of men would give up sex for at least a whole football season for their team to win the Super Bowl. Of them, 11 percent would give it up, “for however long it takes!” (Side note: 15 NFL teams have never won the Super Bowl.  Woe to the partners of those fans!)
  • Out of non-sports fans: a whopping 40 percent believe their partner would give up sex for at least a month if their team was guaranteed a Super Bowl win! And one in four thinks his or her partner would wait for however long it takes.
  • Nearly 30 percent of men think the sex is better after their team wins! Ten percent think they have bad sex after a loss. (Hey non-sports fans—now you’re interested, huh?)
  • Many fans believe it’s difficult to be romantic during the football season. One even said: “The game is turned on more often than my wife!”
  • Sports un-enthusiasts have their concerns too. Some said they felt left out of the fun, while one even stated: “I could be on fire in the room right next to him and he wouldn’t notice.” (Could you grab me a beer while you’re up?)

“Balancing the attention you give to your partner and the attention you give to your team can be an art form,” said Caesars Pocono Resorts Romance Concierge Tracy Getz. “It’s a give and take process that requires some work, but ultimately it’s a lot of fun too. Sports really can equal quality couple time!”
In an effort to help couples navigate the interference of the football season, the romance experts at Caesars Pocono Resorts have put together a list of Top Ten simple ways to keep romance alive (and still root for your favorite team).

  • Instant replay – The next time your partner is watching a game, hit the pause button on your DVR and ask for just 15 minutes of his time. You can go for a walk, chat a little (or whatever else you happen to think of—wink, wink). It’s just enough time to reconnect without having to miss a single play.
  • De-Fense (clap-clap) – Go to a game with your partner. Even if you don’t totally understand the plays (or even really like the sport), you can’t help but be caught up in the fever of the cheering crowd. It’s a fun chance for you and your partner to root for his team and bond over hotdogs and draft beer!
  • Suit up – Buy the football jersey for your partner’s favorite team and use your creativity (and scissors) to turn it into a cute fitted top (or sexy piece of lingerie). Surprise your partner when you’re alone by wearing it during the next game.
  • Support the tailgate – Instead of being upset that your man is spending a day with his buddies watching football, embrace it! Plan a party and whip up some treats. Your man will feel proud of your ability to schmooze with his friends (plus the snacks are great too)!
  • NFL IQ – Learn more about his team. Show your partner your knowledge of the quarterback’s passing record or use football “lingo” when cheering during the game. He’ll appreciate that you made an effort to be interested in his hobby (and he’ll be more willing to become interested in one of yours).
