Light Weight

Light Weight officially formed in October 2013 and quickly became a recognizable name and highly recommended group. The band has been invited to play private and corporate events, weddings, casinos, and country clubs. Light Weight has also performed at a political rally for a prior Vice President of the United States, Joe Biden. The line-up consists of Katie Blake on lead vocals, Matt Rinkunas on guitar, Joe O’Malley on drums, Tom MacDonald on keyboard and guitar, and Dave Graff on bass.

Each member of the band stems from an extensive musical background that creates Light Weight’s solid sound and chemistry. Katie began as lead vocalist of an all-girl original group, The Window Shoppers, and performed solo at events and functions throughout the area. Joe and Matt started as members of the original band Just a Thought, and later moved to become the drummer and guitarist of popular bar band 1 Hot Mess. Tom is a classically trained musician who is making his debut as a band member. Dave is the newest addition to Light Weight and has performed with acts such as Madison Ave and Blue Funk.

Light Weight plays a significant amount of 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, as well as today’s hits. The group appeals to every generation’s musical taste while making each recognizable song their own. Light Weight prides themselves on a diversified set that entices each audience member to participate. Excited and determined to make a big impact, Light Weight intends on a high-energy professional presentation, while simultaneously enjoying a couple of beers with friends.
