Embrace Winter with These Classic Poconos Activities

Embrace Winter with These Classic Poconos Activities

Published On 'November 04

If you’re the type of couple that loves everything about winter, there’s no better destination for a snow-filled getaway than the Poconos Mountains. This region is known for embracing all the season is about, which means plenty of outdoor fun. Some of the best Poconos winter activities are only a short drive away from one of the three stunning properties that make up Cove Pocono Resorts.

Nestled in some of the most picturesque towns, Cove Haven, Paradise Stream, and Paradise Palace are the ideal home base for couples looking to get away this winter. Whether visiting for a week or weekend, there’s no shortage of things to do that’ll have you exploring this winter wonderland.

3 Snowy Things to Do

On average, the Pocono Mountains see about 50 inches of snow a year. This means plenty of fresh powder. As you plan your winter activities, check out the snow conditions to make sure your plans fit the conditions.

Skiing

There are several popular skiing spots near all of our resorts. Paradise Stream guests are roughly 15 minutes from Camelback Mountain Resort, one of the most popular options in the Poconos. If you’re staying at Cove Haven, your best option is Shawnee Mountain, while Blue Mountain Resort is an excellent option for Pocono Palace guests. All of these mountains feature trails perfect for skiers of all skill levels.

Cross-country skiing

Our grounds are spectacular any time of year, but they take on a whole new beauty during the winter. For a fun and unique way to explore, set off cross-country skiing. This activity is offered at Cove Haven and Pocono Palace.

Snowmobiling

If you’re looking for a thrilling outing, rent a snowmobile. Thanks to Key Around Club shuttles, guests of all our properties can take advantage of the rentals available at Pocono Palace. Located on the edge of the Delaware Water Gap, the rolling hills and countryside are ripe for exploring. Other popular snowmobiling areas include Tobyhannah State Park and Hickory Run State Park.
