THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO FALL HIKING IN THE POCONOS

Fall is a magical time to visit the Pocono Mountains. Pleasant weather and beautiful fall colors make the Poconos an absolute delight during this time of year. One of the best ways to enjoy fall in the Poconos is hiking. The Poconos is filled with phenomenal hiking trails, and many of these trails are enhanced by the magnificent beauty of the area’s changing colors.

THE BEST FALL HIKING TRAILS IN THE POCONO MOUNTAINS

Are you dreaming of an autumn getaway to the Pocono Mountains with lots of hiking? You can bring that dream into reality with Cove Pocono Resorts; we offer three romantic adults-only resorts in the Poconos, near some of the region’s best hikes. Here’s a preview of some of our favorite fall hiking trails in the Poconos.

WALLENPAUPACK LAKE TRAIL

Lake Wallenpaupack is a beautiful location, so beautiful we built Cove Haven Resort on its shores. You can explore the beauty of the lake and its forest surroundings on Wallenpaupack Lake Trail, a three-mile hike along the lake. There’s never a bad time to hike the Wallenpaupack Lake Trail, but when the dense forest begins to change colors, it truly becomes alive. If you’re looking for a shorter option, consider Wallenpaupack Creek Trail, which is just 1.2 miles.

BUSHKILL FALLS YELLOW TRAIL

Known as the “Niagra of Pennsylvania,” Bushkill Falls is one of the state’s most stunning natural attractions. Conveniently located about ten minutes away from Pocono Palace Resort, there are four different hiking trails at Bushkill Falls – Green, Yellow, Blue, and Red. We recommend the Yellow Trail, which allows you to view the Main Falls, Lower Gorge Falls, Laurel Glen, and Upper Canyon, all in about 45 minutes of hiking. Besides the falls, you’ll also take in views of the area’s gorgeous fall foliage.

BIG POCONO STATE PARK

Ask anyone in the Poconos where the best places to see fall foliage is, and Big Pocono State Park will undoubtedly be on their list. Big Pocono State Park has 8.5 miles of hiking trails, all of which showcase the brilliant fall colors. If you’re looking for a quick and easy fall hiking adventure, try Indian Trail, a 1.3-mile loop trail with scenic views. For a longer and more challenging hike, consider Big Pocono South and North Trail Loop. Guests staying at Paradise Stream Resort are only about 20 minutes away from Big Pocono State Park.
