As it is year-round, our summer entertainment calendar here at Cove Pocono Resorts is truly jam-packed: We’ve got bands of every flavor, standup comedians, magicians, hypnotists—you name it—gracing our various stages, seasoning your romantic retreat in the Poconos with some fabulous nightlife.
And one of our most popular summertime onstage traditions is set for its 6th annual go-round at the start of September: our Cove Pocono Resorts <a href=”https://www.covepoconoresorts.com/events/event/6th-annual-southern-rock-festival/”>Southern Rock Festival</a>!
Here’s your chance to kick up your (boot) heels to some raucous mashups of blues, country, and good old rock-‘n-roll, delivered by some of the best touring bands in the business. The tune-age goes down Friday, September 1 through Monday, September 4, and includes in its twangy, blistering, foot-stompin’ purview all three of our resorts!
<h3>This Year’s Bands</h3>
This year’s Southern Rock Festival lays claim to a really stellar lineup of headliners. On Sunday, September 3, the members of the legendary Blues Traveler will treat the Cove Haven crowd to their inimitable sound: an eclectic and freewheeling one honed across some three decades of performing that have earned them an extremely devoted following of concertgoers.
Then there’s Stolen Rhodes, a blues-rock outfit based in the City of Brotherly Love, which’ll be appearing September 1 at Paradise Stream Resort and September 2 at Pocono Palace Resort. The Brian Dean Moore Band, meantime, will live up to their “Tyrants of Twang” nickname at Paradise Stream (September 2), Pocono Palace (September 3), and Cove Haven (September 4).
Last but not least, the red-hot country posse of the Tommy Guns Band commands the floorboards September 1 at Cove Haven, September 3 at Paradise Stream, and September 4 at Pocono Palace, while CrazyHearts—known for tours with the Charlie Daniels Band, Big and Rich, and other superstars—plays Cove Haven on the 2nd and Paradise Stream on the 4th.
<h3>The Bar-B-Q Pig Roast</h3>
The music may be the centerpiece, but it’s not the festival’s sole attraction: Just as beloved a part of the proceedings is the Bar-B-Q Pig Roast, taking place September 3 (1 to 3 PM) at Paradise Stream and September 4 at Cove Haven (noon to 2 PM) and Pocono Palace (1 to 3 PM). There’s absolutely no resisting the pork involved: tenderly slow-roasted in classic Southern BBQ style for a nice and generous 24 hours.
Book your stay at one of our Cove Pocono Resorts for the start of September and come join the concert bonanza at our 6th Annual Southern Rock Festival! Scorching tunes on stage, mouthwatering BBQ on your plate—what exactly are you waiting for?
