The Best Breweries in PA: A Sudsy Poconos Adventure

While there isn’t an abundance of breweries in the Poconos, the few who have set up shop in hopes of serving frosty travelers a pint of microbeer have been met with wild success. You certainly won’t need a reason to leave Cove Haven Entertainment Resorts this winter. But we cannot blame all of you self-proclaimed beer aficionados out there if a frothy, roasty oatmeal stout at one of the top-rated breweries in PA doesn’t sound excessively enticing.

A Self-Guided Beer Journey: The Top 3 Breweries in PA

If you’ve ever taken a peek at a state-wide brewery map, you already know that dozens of taprooms are scattered throughout the Pocono Mountains. And, luckily for you and your sweetheart, several of our favorite breweries in PA are just a short drive from Cove Haven Resort, Pocono Palace Resort, and Paradise Stream Resort. A brief journey to an ultra-popular Pocono brewery is the perfect mid-day activity for those aiming to take a short break from the snow this winter.

1. Hopping Eagle Brewing Co

Hopping Eagle Brewing assuredly isn’t the oldest Lake Wallenpauck brewery, but my oh my is this brand new establishment starting to turn heads. The brewing team at Hopping Eagle is already making a name for themselves, thanks to a wide variety of hazy IPAs (including Don’t Poke the Bear and Peregrine NEIPA). Their merch is flying off of the shelves thanks to that ingenious logo, depicting a bald eagle with a bright-green hop for a torso atop an oar. But don’t forget about those eight glorious taps inside of their clean, sleek taproom.

2. Downriver Brewing Company

Downriver Brewing Company is the “new kid” on the block as they just opened their doors on November 2, 2019. It’s only been a few weeks, but downtown Stroudsburg’s very first craft brewery since 1937 is already garnering exceptional reviews from critics, locals, and Untappd’s online community. This team is just getting their collective feet wet, but great things are in store for the folks at Downriver. With an early emphasis on Berliner Weisses, milkshake IPAs, and imperial stouts, we’re equally excited to see what they come up with next.

3. Wallenpaupack Brewing Co.

Wallenpaupack Brewing operates at a much higher frequency than most breweries in PA, including Hopping Eagle and Downriver. This 14,000-square-foot, full production brewery sits atop the remains of a defunct Arby’s along U.S. 6, just seven miles from Cove Haven Resort. One of the many perks of stepping into this polished, modern taproom is that they also offer bar grub, such as grass-fed burgers, house-smoked prime rib (in honor of Arby’s), and even taco “flights.” The Hawley Hefeweizen, Nut Brown Ale, and Lake Haze #8 are three beers to try this winter.

A Tantalizing Couples Retreat in PA

Ladies and gentlemen, we’re rapidly approaching the most romantic season of the year: the holiday season. And there’s nothing more romantic than building a snowman underneath falling snow, snuggling around a fireplace with hot cocoa in-hand, and, of course, a soak inside a  seven-foot-tall Champagne Tower Whirlpool. After a brief visit to one of these top-ranked breweries in PA, enjoy fine dining, live entertainment, and some long-overdue alone time your private suite. If you’re still curious about other local breweries “near me,” give our team a call today at 1-800-432-9932. Don’t hesitate to also ask about our all-inclusive honeymoon packages, Jacuzzi suites, and seasonal specials!

Adventure and Romance: Snowmobiling in the Poconos

Winter is often associated with heartwarming holidays, festive drinks, and, of course, heartfelt proposals amid falling snow. But don’t forget about the many outdoor activities that help facilitate romance, flirtation, and a healthy dose of adventure. Among the many perks to a mid-winter getaway to Pocono Palace Resort, including nightly entertainment, fine dining, and shuttle services, is the fact that you’ll have the rare opportunity to try snowmobiling in the Poconos for free!

Finding a Snowmobile Rental “near Me”

Reserving a snowmobile rental in the Poconos can be quite costly; the insurance alone costs a fortune. But here at Pocono Palace Resort, all guests can hop aboard a safe, well-maintained snowmobile en route to a nearby winter wonderland. Beginners are more than welcome to join the frosty fun as each excursion is led by a trained professional who will help every step of the way. While the “sled” tours are located near our East Stroudsburg location, guests at all three resorts can spend a couple of hours in the backcountry powder thanks to our handy Key Around Club shuttles.

A Pocono Palace Exclusive: Snowmobiling in the Poconos

For those of you who don’t already know, Pocono Palace Resort rests along the edge of the breathtaking Delaware Water Gap. This region is widely known for its towering hillsides, winding roads, and peaceful countrysides. In the heart of winter, the birches, dogwoods, and eastern hemlocks are covered in fresh snow. The valley itself—where you’ll have the opportunity to go snowmobiling in the Poconos—is typically gleaming white, especially when preceded by a picturesque hoarfrost.

For all of you couples out there that are searching for “snowmobiling near me,” look no further than the rolling hills alongside Pocono Palace Resort. One of our charismatic winter sports CXOs (Chief eXcitement Officers) lead groups of six to eight riders into the pristine wilderness for approximately 15 minutes at a time. No two rides are alike, as the CXOs fully understand that many guests prefer to join multiple excursions in a row (much like a roller coaster).

3 Romantic Getaways in PA: Cove Haven

Believe it or not, the month of December is among our most popular wedding seasons! So, don’t hesitate to browse through our wedding, elopement, and honeymoon packages on our website.

As you might imagine, many couples choose to spend their winter afternoons sipping on hot cocoa, soaking inside a Champagne Tower Whirlpool, and snuggling on a horse-drawn carriage ride. To learn more about the possibility of skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling in the Poconos with your sweetheart, please give our concierge a call today at 1-800-432-9932.

Powder and Passion: A Romantic Poconos Snowboarding Day-Trip

There’s never an offseason for adventure and romance here at Cove Haven Entertainment Resorts, the top-rated couples getaway in PA. There’s just something genuinely playful about carving down a pristine ski hill on a sturdy snowboard with your sweetheart amid subtly descending snowflakes. We always encourage our guests to try as many winter activities as possible to foster a playful, passionate, and uninhibited experience. And very few mid-day activities are more rejuvenating than Poconos snowboarding!

Poconos Snowboarding: 2 Beautiful Locales

It’s quite common that couples differ in their alpine gear preference—some fancy skis, while others favor a slick, artistic snowboard. Regardless of your instrument of choice, you’ll never forget the day that you blazed down smooth, fresh powder in the heart of Eastern PA. Any type of romantic Poconos snowboarding trip is incomplete without fireside snuggles, hot tub soaks, and nightly entertainment at Pocono Palace Resort!

Shawnee Mountain

Pocono Palace Resort lies just three miles down the road from Shawnee Mountain, home to prime Poconos snowboarding, skiing, and snow tubing. If you were to search for “snowboarding places near me,” Shawnee would likely stand out amongst the competition. Unlike several other snowboarding resorts in the region, Shawnee has two spectacular terrain parks that can align with any skill level. With daily rates starting at $38 per person, it’s well worth the three-mile drive from Pocono Palace Resort. And the sprawling Pocono Mountains views from the peak are equally spellbinding and exhilarating. If you take a glance at Shawnee Mountain’s trail map, you’ll quickly notice ample black diamonds for those aiming to tame a challenging beast—what’s more exciting than carving down a 700-foot verticle drop?

Montage Mountain

Most guests from the New York City area who are looking for some all-time Poconos snowboarding typically choose Montage Mountain because of its grand reputation. Beginners can also enroll in the snowboarding school, which is an added perk for those who’ve never sped down a snow hill. And a lot of guests are drawn to Montage Mountain’s many off-season festivals, such as Rhythm & Blues and the Fall Wine Festival. Montage Mountain’s 26 trails span over 140 acres of pristine wilderness, approximately 40 minutes from Cove Haven Resort. Montage is prettier than Shawnee but sees much more traffic on the trails. We recommend visiting this bustling ski resort between Monday and Wednesday to save some hard-earned dough and avoid the crowds.

Exciting Snow Resorts “near Me”

After spending three hours at one of the area’s best snowboarding resorts, retreat to Pocono Palace Resort for an evening filled with fine dining, live entertainment, and a late-night soak in your private Champagne Tower Whirlpool. Don’t forget to browse through our all-inclusive honeymoon packages, Jacuzzi suites, and on-site activities to learn more about each resort. We also recommend reading up about winter proposal ideas, our newly-renovated suites, and wintertime vow renewals before booking! Give us a call today at 1-800-432-9932 to book that well-deserved, long-awaited seductive escape.

6 Romantic Winter Proposal Ideas

And, believe it or not, the most popular proposal season here at Cove Haven Entertainment Resorts is the wintertime, particularly around the holidays. For those of you who don’t already know, we have a full staff of proposal experts, led by the ultra-talented and creative Lauren Brooks. Our team has come up with six unique winter proposal ideas to give you a “taste” of what our tantalizing lakeside haven can offer you and your future spouse.

Pop the Question: 6 Fun Winter Proposal Ideas

To ensure that your special moment is nothing short of flawless, we offer a wide variety of proposal and engagement packages, which start at just $99. Brooks and her team have helped plan hundreds of engagements, utilizing countless creative proposal ideas. All six of these winter proposal ideas are bound to lead to a resounding “yes” from your future better half.

1. The Ice Skating Rink “Fall”

During winter’s peak, some of the most common winter proposal ideas involve a festive, dimly-lit skating rink. Luckily for you, Cove Haven Resort has a year-round indoor ice rink. You could stumble to ice (whoops!), reach into your pocket for the dazzling ring, and prop yourself onto one knee to ask the most important question of your lifetime.

2. The Classic Candlelit Dinner

There’s never an “offseason” for the classic candlelit dinner proposal accompanied by a bottle of fine champagne and succulent steak amid an ultra-romantic ambiance. Our staff can set up an intimate, dimly-lit space for your big moment.

3. Christmas Morning Stocking

Hiding the velvet ring box at the bottom of their stocking is among our favorite Christmas proposal ideas as the surprised look is priceless. While Christmastime engagements are quite common, there’s something truly magical about starting December 25 with a bang.

4. Make a Snowman

When coming up with a list of potential winter proposal ideas, don’t be afraid to think outside of the box. It’s doesn’t get much sweeter than meticulously assembling a smiling snowman with your loved one, especially after you subtly place a diamond ring on the snowman’s left hand.

5. A Special Surprise in the Whirlpool

As you may already know, Cove Haven Entertainment Resorts is widely recognized for our Champagne Tower Whirlpools. These seductive Jacuzzis are the perfect place to secretively hide a ring (we recommend placing it inside a transparent capsule amidst the foamy bubbles). Let your sweetheart find the mysterious capsule and watch them gradually deduce what’s happening.

6. Write Your Proposal in the Snow

Yes, this is one of the more cliched marriage proposal ideas out there, but it’s still a fun, simple way to proclaim your endearing love and devotion. Brooks and our team can set up a momentary distraction to ensure that you have enough time to stage the scene.

A Genuinely Unforgettable Couples Retreat in PA

There are countless memorable proposal ideas to choose from here at Cove Haven Entertainment Resorts, including on horseback, during a snowball fight, and in the middle of a live performance. “Your Dream” Proposal Packages can include a photography session, candles, champagne, rose petals, and so much more! For even more outdoor proposal ideas, please give our talented team a call today at 570-839-5238.

Romantic Horseback Riding in the Poconos

Cove Haven Entertainment Resorts has been one of the premier romantic getaways in North America since 1958, thanks to our tantalizing all-inclusive packages, fine dining, live entertainment, Champagne Tower Whirlpools, and, of course, the exclusive Key Around Club. But we urge future guests to explore the Pocono Mountains in a variety of ways, including couples horseback riding. For those of you who’ve never climbed aboard a majestic, well-trained horse in this gorgeous region, horseback riding in the Poconos is an experience unlike any other.

Horseback Riding in the Poconos near Cove Haven

To ensure that your upcoming escape to Lake Wallenpaupack is nothing short of flawless, we’ve compiled three of our favorite nearby stables. If you were to search for “riding stables near me” this winter, you’d likely stumble upon each of these local businesses. Although horseback riding in the Poconos is undeniably exciting, romantic, and scenic, not a lot of couples feel comfortable atop a horse. Luckily for you and your sweetheart, all three of these stables have a fleet of well-trained horses and a team of talented equestrians. And don’t forget to ask about exclusive discounts at each location—they treat our guests with extra care!

Triple W Riding Stable

Location: 291 Beechnut Drive, Honesdale, PA
Price range: call for pricing (570-226-2620)
Tour length: 1-2 hours
Closest resort: Cove Haven Resort, 12 miles

Why choose Triple W? The folks up north at Triple W Riding Stable have been guiding couples through the dense forestry and sprawling countryside for decades. The highlight of Triple W’s two-hour scenic trail ride is the mountaintop overlook. Your group will leisurely gallop through wooded forests and open fields en route to one of the highest elevations in the Pocono Mountains—the valley views are astonishing!

Mountain Creek Riding Stables

Location: 6190 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco, PA
Price range: $20- $75
Tour length: 45-60 minutes
Closest resort: Paradise Stream Resort, 0.1 mile

Why choose Mountain Creek? The easy answer is that Mountain Creek Riding Stables is located just 450 feet from Paradise Steam Resort’s driveway. Their five-star reputation and unmatched customer reviews tell the story, but we also love the fact that they offer one-hour private tours for just $75 per person. Lovebirds can enjoy each other’s company atop a beautiful, attentive horse without a crowd of strangers removing the romantic ambiance. Each trip meanders along serene streams (including our very own Paradise Creek), towering forestry, and blossoming flora.

Happy Trails Stables

Location: 648 Honesdale Road, Waymart, PA
Price range: call for pricing (570-488-6996)
Closest resort: Cove Haven Resort, 18 miles

Why choose Happy Trails? If you and your spouse are searching for especially secluded horseback riding in the Poconos, we recommend venturing north to Happy Trails Stables. Their trail rides amble along the vibrant countryside and into undisturbed woodlands. Many vantage points in the open fields provide panoramic views of the faraway mountains topped with wind turbines. Curious wildlife often trots through these fields, forests, and backcountry ponds.

An Unforgettable Couples Getaway in PA

We highly recommend that you combine an hour or two of horseback riding in the Poconos with several of our complimentary on-site activities, such as bicycling, racquetball, and snowmobiling. And don’t forget to read about our fine dining, newly-renovated suites, and nearby golf courses before your arrival. To learn more about our Jacuzzi suites, all-inclusive honeymoon packages, and Poconos horseback riding packages, please give us a call today at 800-432-9932.

Top 5 Poconos Waterfalls

And luckily for you and your sweetheart, Pocono Palace Resort and Paradise Stream Resort are just a short drive from dozens of awe-inspiring, picturesque Poconos waterfalls. While you likely already know all about Bushkill Falls, “the Niagara of Pennsylvania,” there are many more hidden gems in the Pocono Mountains amidst dense forestry, thriving wildlife, and natural serenity.

The 5 Prettiest Poconos Waterfalls

Yes, Cove Haven Entertainment Resorts provides honeymooners, spouses, and lovebirds with seemingly neverending (and all-inclusive) on-site amenities, fine dining, and nightly live entertainment. But we cannot blame you if a midday escape to one of the prettiest Poconos waterfalls doesn’t sound alluring, invigorating, and mildly seductive. These five Pocono Mountain adventures should be combined with some light hiking, a bit of exploration, and a tasty afternoon picnic.

1. Bushkill Falls

It should come as no surprise that we’re kicking off this list of Poconos waterfalls with the always enchanting Bushkill Falls. While many of the best waterfalls in PA are moderately “off the beaten path,” Bushkill is one of the top attractions in the state. Despite the crowds, there’s nothing more magical than strolling alongside this tranquil collection of eight falls. The gorge itself is a natural, moss-covered marvel, while the two-mile Red Trail is among the best hikes in the Poconos.

2. Dingmans Falls

Dingmans Creek is home to a handful of the most-frequented Poconos waterfalls, most notably Dingmans Falls. Particularly adventurous couples often walk the creek to observe each waterfall from up-close. After a dramatic drop, the latter half of Dingmans Falls looks like a slippery natural waterslide. During summer’s golden peak, thrillseekers climb the falls and swim inside the teal pool.

3. Raymondskill Falls

While the trek to these classic Poconos waterfalls is just 0.3 miles, we recommend hopping on the lengthier loop. The 2.3-mile Raymondskill Falls Loop provides a quintessential Poconos hiking experience: serene waterfalls, dramatic valley overlooks, and lush forestry. Whether you plan to visit during spring’s thaw, summer’s haze, or autumn’s peak, Raymondskill Creek is bound to provide you and your flame with long-lasting memories.

4. Silverthread Falls

Just downstream from Dingmans Falls lies yet another one of our favorite Poconos waterfalls: Silverthread Falls. This skinny, often overlooked beauty features an 80-foot drop, making it one of the tallest Delaware Water Gap waterfalls. Aptly-named Silverthread is reminiscent of those thin yet enthralling waterfalls often captured by natural photographers who trek into Hawaii’s dense, uninhabited wilderness.

5. Shohola Falls

Shohola Falls is perhaps the best-kept secret on the Poconos waterfalls map. If you and your fellow adventurer relish a good thrill, we recommend carefully walking on one of Shohola Falls’ many layers. As long as the current isn’t gushing, you can walk right into the heart of Shohola Falls—as long as you’re not afraid to get a little wet, of course.

Adventurous Romantic Getaways in PA

After trying one (or several) of these classic Pocono adventures, retreat to Cove Haven Entertainment Resorts for an afternoon activity, romantic steak dinner, live music, and, of course, a soak in your Champagne Tower Whirlpool. For those that are closing in on their wedding day, we also have a wide range of all-inclusive honeymoon packages. Please visit our specials page for more details. To book a dreamlike escape to one of our liberating, tantalizing resorts, please give us a call today at 800-432-9932.

The 3 Best Wineries in the Poconos

In fact, the Poconos Mountains see just as much foot traffic and interest as those faraway destinations because of our region’s proximity to the New York Metropolitan Area’s 20 million residents. There are dozens of award-winning wineries in the Poconos, many of which offer vineyard tours, special events, and inexpensive wine flights.

The Best Wineries in the Poconos near Cove Haven

Many couples plan a self-guided, mid-day trip along the “Pocono wine trail” during their stay here at Cove Haven Entertainment Resorts. With so many wineries in the Poconos, finding the best vineyards in the area can be challenging. Luckily for you and your sweetheart, we’ve pieced together the three premier wineries in PA based on customer feedback and personal experience. The breathtaking Pocono wine trail is perhaps the closest thing that compares to a trip to Southern Europe.

Mountain View Vineyard – Stroudsburg

Narrowing this list down to three was taxing, but Mountain View Vineyard was always a no-brainer. It’s easy to fall in love with their countryside landscape, mountain-view tasting room, and personalized service. This 100-acre farm is entirely sustainable—and they don’t just make wine! After savoring a semi-dry Chambourcin and Cayuga blend, we recommend taste-testing their distilled spirits and craft beer. Don’t forget to join one of their Pocono wine tours, which begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Must-try: Bliss, Wild Mountain Rose, and Mountain Goat Red.

Eagles Rest Cellars – Stroudsburg

Eagles Rest Cellars remains one of the most underrated wineries in the Poconos, but that shouldn’t stop you from taking a trip to this 900-vine, 4,500-Christmas tree farm. They provide vineyard tours on the weekends, but the tasting room is open four days a week. Even if a vineyard tour isn’t available, we still highly recommend taking a stroll on their farm—the misty Pocono Mountains tower over the land. For just $5 per person, you can enjoy a flight of five wines. You’ll also receive a glass to take home. The Pocono wine tours, meanwhile, cost just $8. Must-try: Taxi, Cruise, and Attitude.

Sorrenti Cherry Valley Vineyard – Saylorsburg

Sorrenti Cherry Valley Vineyard is one of the oldest wineries in the Poconos as it opened for business back in 1981. Until the early 1980s, many believed that growing grapes in this climate was impossible. But Dominic Sorrenti proved them wrong as his lifelong dream of owning a vineyard became a reality. You won’t find many vineyards in PA with a more gripping backstory. Sorrenti hosts many events, such as grape stomps, paint ‘n sips, and the annual Sangria Festival. Must-try: Blackberry Noir, Raspberry Spumante, and Pinot Grigio.

Well-Deserved Couples Retreat in PA

After an afternoon on the Pocono wine trail, return to Pocono Palace Resort or Paradise Stream Resort for a seafood dinner, a dusk walk, live entertainment, and a soak in a world-famous Champagne Tour Whirlpool. To learn more about our Jacuzzi suites, wedding packages, and hot deals, please visit us online. And don’t forget to brush up on our nearby attractions, road trips, engagement locations, and hiking trails before your arrival.

The 3 Best Pocono Golf Courses

As far as we’re concerned, there’s no better golf destination in the world than the Pocono Mountains during autumn’s peak. The sprawling, rolling mountains in this awe-inspiring region transform into a vivid, eye-popping mixture of blazing amber, rich marigold, deep crimson, and bright green. As you might expect, the fall foliage allures hundreds of thousands of golfers into the Pocono Mountains each year. One of our most popular off-campus, couples-friendly activities here at Cove Haven Entertainment Resorts is 18 holes of golf. And luckily for you and your sweetheart, our world-famous Jacuzzi suites are just a short distance from the three best Pocono golf courses.

The Best Pocono Golf Courses near Cove Haven

Browsing through the top-rated Pocono golf courses can be a bit taxing as there are so many options. So, we decided to rank the three best golf clubs based on personal experience and customer feedback. Each of these Pocono Mountain golf courses is within 30 minutes of our resorts. It’s worth noting that Cove Haven Resort and Pocono Palace Resort both have a driving range, so feel free to hit some balls before your departure.

Paupack Hills Golf Course & Country Club – Greentown

All three of these Pocono golf courses were selected for a reason, most notably the surrounding beauty. You won’t find more vibrant colors in the region. Paupack Hills Golf Course rests just on the other side of Lake Wallenpaupack from Cove Haven Resort—a scenic, relaxing 16-mile drive. The course itself features skinny, challenging fairways, pristine bunkers, soft greens, and jaw-dropping tee shots. This Tom Fazio masterpiece hugs Lake Tanglwood amidst deep forestry, creating a genuinely peaceful ambiance that occasionally allures wildlife.

Buck Hill Golf Club – Buck Hill Falls

Buck Hill Golf Club is just six miles north of Paradise Stream Resort, which is an added perk for our visiting golf enthusiasts. Take one peek at their website, and we guarantee that you’ll pick up the phone to make a tee time. Each hole is entirely enclosed by dense, colorful forestry. There are 27 well-designed holes at this 112-year-old staple that are split into three nine-hole Pocono golf courses: Red, White, and Blue. The original 1907 Red Course is the hilliest, while golfers have fallen in love with the Blue Course’s elevated tee shots.

Great Bear Golf Club – East Stroudsburg

We may have saved the best for last. Great Bear Golf Club, located just 1.9 miles from Pocono Palace Resort, is a beginner-friendly, Jack Nicklaus-designed marvel. It’s proximity to the Delaware Water Gap helps provide natural beauty that you won’t find at many other Pocono golf courses. Great Bear sees less foot traffic than the previous two entries, which is certainly a plus for those looking for a swift round with their sweetheart. It’s also one of the newest courses in the area as its doors opened in 1997.

Couples Getaway in PA

As we stated previously, very few activities can top 18 holes of Poconos golf. However, Cove Haven Entertainment Resorts’ nightly live entertainment, free on-site amenities, all-inclusive fine dining, and seductive Champagne Tower Whirlpools will likely lure you both away from the tee box. If you plan to visit us in autumn, please read about our fall bucket list, foliage day-trips, and couples activities. Give us a call today at 800-432-9932 to learn more about our all-inclusive honeymoon packages, Jacuzzi suites, and Forever Lovers Club!

Poconos Kayaking at Cove Haven

With summer officially in the rearview mirror, millions of couples turn their attention to the most romantic season of the year: autumn. Every fall, the Pocono Mountains transform into a vibrant meld of amber, marigold, kelly green, and crimson. This picturesque land allures couples from New York City, Philadelphia, and all across the East Coast. And one of the most romantic mid-fall activities in our region is kayaking. Nothing tops an hour or two of serene Poconos kayaking in the crisp, fresh mountain air while surrounded by vivid, eye-popping fall foliage. When you choose a passionate, uninhibited stay at Cove Haven Entertainment Resorts, you’ll always be steps from quintessential Pocono adventures such as kayaking, fishing, and bicycling.

Autumn Poconos Kayaking

Couples often search for “kayaking near me” when visiting the Pocono Mountains, but you’ll be happy to hear that both Cove Haven Resort and Pocono Palace Resort offer exclusive, complimentary access to a wide variety of kayaks. We provide free access to nearly a dozen adventure sports, but there’s something magical about a paddling excursion when the colors are at their peak.

Cove Haven Resort – Lake Wallenpaupack

Poconos kayaking, especially during autumn’s peak, is equally relaxing, invigorating, and playful. And luckily for you and your sweetheart, Lake Wallenpaupack provides some of the best kayaking in the Poconos. Lake Wallenpaupack spans 5,700 acres with approximately 52 miles of shoreline. Paddlers are only allowed within the cove of the lake for the safety of our guests, but, thankfully, this stretch of the lake is jaw-droppingly beautiful in autumn.

Pocono Palace Resort – Echo Lake

Whereas Lake Wallenpaupack is one of the most popular Poconos kayaking destinations, Pocono Palace Resort’s private Echo Lake is a secluded hidden gem. Most couples only spend an hour or so paddling along the outer banks of this still body of water, which is enclosed by towering forestry. During the fall season, these diverse trees provide a heartwarming glow and a golden sheen on Echo Lake.

5 (More) Romantic Things to Do in the Poconos This Fall

For those who’re staying at Paradise Stream Resort, you’ll have exclusive access to rowboats and pedal boats (but no kayaks). And the colors on the trees around the Lakeside Villas are quite lovely to enjoy during a quiet stroll around Lake Eden. While nothing tops an hour or two of Poconos kayaking during mid-October, we urge couples to embark on a wilderness stroll, throw a line into the lake for a monster northern pike, and play a paintball match against other couples. To ensure that your mid-fall getaway is nothing short of flawless, we’ve compiled five more of our favorite on-site autumn activities:

  • Bicycling
  • Croquet
  • Fishing
  • Golf driving range
  • Guided nature walk

Discover the Most Vibrant Poconos Fall Foliage

Some may argue that Valentine’s Day, New Year’s Eve, and even June 25 are the most romantic dates on the calendar, but there’s no denying the seductive allure of autumn’s peak. There’s just something magical about colorful, falling leaves, spicy beverages, and cozy (often plaid) attire, especially for couples aiming to spend some well-deserved time away from home. Northeastern Pennsylvania’s Poconos fall foliage remains the #1 spot to observe vibrant colors, according to TripSavvy. Whether you’re planning a mid-fall honeymoon, vow renewal, or just a little overdue autumn romance, you’ll never forget your extended weekend stay at Cove Haven Entertainment Resorts.

The Romantic Allure of Poconos Fall Foliage

As the top-rated romantic getaways in PA near New York City, we’re always looking for fun, convenient ways for couples to discover the most vibrant Poconos fall foliage. Some of our favorite on-site autumn activities include hiking, fishing, and kayaking, but you’re more than welcome to explore the surrounding forestry during your stay. To ensure that your next romantic vacation is nothing short of flawless, we’ve compiled three adventurous date ideas that are particularly fun during autumn’s peak!

Lake Wallenpaupack

A lot of couples only know about Lake Wallenpaupack from NBC’s The Office, but this scenic, 5,700-acre body of water is entirely enclosed by lush forestry which subtly transforms into an awe-inspiring blend of crimson, amber, marigold, and kelly green during autumn’s peak. Guests at Cove Haven Resort enjoy easy access to Lake Wallenpaupack as well as complimentary usage of pedal boats, rowboats, pontoon boats, paddleboards, and kayaks. Embark on a sequestered voyage into the heart of Lake Wallenpaupack to obtain a 360-degree view of the surrounding Pocono Mountains. The Poconos fall foliage in Northeastern Pennsylvania is particularly vibrant thanks to this region’s consistent weather patterns.

Delaware Water Gap

It’s no longer a secret that the Delaware Water Gap, which acts as a natural border between Pennsylvania and New Jersey, is one of the most incredible sights along the East Coast. Some of the most jaw-dropping Poconos fall foliage can be discovered from a variety of hiking trails near the city of East Stroudsburg, PA, home to Pocono Palace Resort. We recently wrote about our region’s three best hiking trails, which included the Delaware Water Gap’s Mount Minsi. While Mount Minsi is the top-rated trail in the area, we also recommend the Appalachian Trail, Tumbling Waters Trail, and Hackers Falls for adventurous couples.

Bushkill Falls

Bushkill Falls quickly earned the moniker “The Niagara of Pennsylvania” when visitors began to associate these dramatic waterfalls with one of the world’s wonders. Pocono Palace Resort is just 11 minutes from Bushkill Falls, so a quick day-trip should be on your docket. The quintessential Poconos fall foliage that encloses Little Bushkill Creek and Pond Run Creek is exceptionally vivid for several weeks, which is why this unique park is one of our favorite romantic fall date ideas near Pocono Palace Resort. Because there are several on-site hiking trails, you could spend anywhere from 15 minutes to two hours at these eight breathtaking waterfalls.

Romantic Fall Getaways

Cove Haven Entertainment Resorts is known for its all-inclusive packages, Champagne Tower Whirlpools, and free, nightly live entertainment. But don’t forget to observe the area’s quintessential Poconos fall colors while trying these three adventurous dates ideas. Of course, couples can also partake in their favorite things about fall, such as pumpkin-spiced lattes, wilderness strolls, and fireside snuggles. To learn more about a potential fall weekend getaway, please give us a call today at 800-432-9932.
